Dr. Khalid Ansari is an Associate Professor in the Department of Respiratory Care at Liwa College in Abu Dhabi, UAE, since March 2023. Prior to this position, he worked as a Senior Lecturer and Respiratory lead at the University of the West of England (UWE) Bristol, UK, from 2018 to 2023, and as an Assistant Professor at the University of Dammam in Saudi Arabia from 2013 to 2018 and a visiting faculty in the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, King Abdul Aziz University, Jeddah, KSA from 2020 to 2022. He performed his duty across a range of academic roles including module leader, Champion of Public involvement in teaching and learning Head of Research Unit and the Chair of Accreditation team in different institution.
Dr. Ansari is an experienced clinician and holds degrees in Medicine from Pakistan. He later obtained M.Phil., and a Ph.D. in clinical pathophysiology from the UK. Dr. Ansari has a diverse academic and clinical background, with extensive teaching, leadership, and administrative experience in various countries, including Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, United Kingdom, and UAE.
His vast teaching experience with diverse students cohort (from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, UK and UAE) and PGCAPP and Fellowship in Higher Education Academy (FHEA) qualifications enables him to enhance teaching and learning abilities. He mainly enjoys teaching any health/medicine subjects but mainly cover cardio-respiratory physiology and pathophysiology and research skills courses across the college including biomedical, healthcare science and health technology students across the university.
Throughout his career, he has published over 15 papers in high-impact journals and has been involved in managing large-scale, collaborative, and multi-year research projects both in the UK and abroad. He has worked on research projects in collaboration with various institutions, including Sunderland Royal Hospital, Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle, GP surgeries, community nurses, and several hospitals in Dammam, Located in the eastern province namely Qatif General Hospital and King Fahd University Hospital, AL Khobar, KSA.
Dr. Ansari is an active member of The Physiological Society in the UK and has significant experience in teaching and researching respiratory physiology and pathophysiology. He has also been involved in establishing partnerships with cross-disciplinary healthcare researchers, emphasizing the importance of research in healthcare.
