To enhance community awareness and promote sustainability across different sectors, Liwa College has established two Sustainability Offices at its campuses in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. This initiative focuses on encouraging innovative solutions to address future challenges, supporting responsible energy, and paper & water usage practices, besides aligning with the UAE’s efforts to achieve sustainable development goals.

Activities

To encourage and maintain sustainable practices, various events and activities have been arranged to increase awareness and enforce sustainable practices. Here are some activities conducted:

Adopt paperless institution initiatives:

One of the key initiatives led by the Sustainability Office at Liwa College to promote sustainable practices is the ongoing digitization and automation of services, aimed at creating a paperless environment. As part of this effort, the college has implemented the “Print on Both Sides” initiative, which significantly reduces paper and ink usage. Additionally, the digitization of both internal services for faculty and staff and external services for students is progressing steadily. As of 2023/2024, 70% of services are digitized, with a target of 85% by 2024/2025. The ultimate goal is to achieve 100% digitization for both internal and external services in the coming years, further supporting the college’s commitment to sustainability.
