Bachelor’s Programs

General Requirements

Liwa College offers Bachelor’s programs that are accredited by the Ministry of Education in the UAE and are designed in collaboration with our strategic partners across all industries. Our curricula as well as teaching and learning methods follow a practical approach whereby students get to test theories and develop skills that bridge the gap between academia and the labor market needs.

High School Certificate/ Equivalency

  • Applicants must have a recognized and official Secondary School Certificate or it’s equivalent showing successful completion of secondary education.
  • Applicants from private schools will only be accepted if the school is licensed by the Ministry of Education in the UAE.
  • Students with a UAE General Secondary School Certificate must have achieved a minimum score of 60%, in line with the regulations of the Ministry of Education.
  • Students with Industrial, Applied Technology, Commercial, and Agricultural Secondary School Certificates and with a minimum score of 65% can be admitted to Liwa College programs.
  • Applicants from foreign schools that follow systems of education applied in their native countries, which have two levels of secondary school education, must have completed the higher level of secondary education to be admitted.

English Requirement

All programs except those offered in the Arabic Language require the student to meet the English requirement by achieving one of the following:

  • 1100 on the EMSAT English
  • 5.0 on IELTS
  • 61 on TOEFL IBT
  • 173 on TOEFL CBT
  • 500 on TOEFL ITP

Important Notes:

  • An English proficiency certificate must be no older than two years.
  • Students who do not meet the required English proficiency language will be allowed to register for English level and courses from the General Program.
  • English-level attendance is mandatory
  • The student needs to pass the English requirement (EMSAT, TOEFL, or IELTS) before pursuing his/her regular program.

 

Additional Documents

To apply for any program offered by Liwa College, you must submit the following after completing the online application:

  • Original or certified copy of Secondary School Certificate attested by the UAE Ministry of Education.
  • Seven different subjects from O, AS, or A Levels with a minimum grade of C or above depending on the major.
  • Copy of a valid passport (and residence visa for expatriates).
  • Copy of UAE National Family Registry for UAE nationals.
  • Valid UAE Identity Card (EID).
  • One recent passport-sized color photograph.
  • A no-objection certificate to study for male nationals from the National & Reserve Service.
  • Original English proficiency certificate (IELTS, TOEFL, or EmSAT) if applicable.
  • Official transcript and course syllabi from other universities for credit transfer if applicable.
  • AED 3,500 as the first payment (non-refundable).

Specific Requirements per Program/Faculty

Faculty of Engineering

Full Admission

To be eligible for full admission to one of the BSc. in Industrial Engineering, BSc. in Mechanical Engineering or BSc. in Civil Engineering, a student should:

  • Meet the minimum average in the high school program as per Table 1.
  • Meet the minimum English requirement by obtaining a score of 1100 on EMSAT English, or 5.0 on IELTS, or 61 on TOEFL IBT, or 173 on TOEFL CBT or 500 on TOEFL ITP.
  • Meet the minimum score requirement on the EMSAT: 800 on EMSAT Math, 700 on EMSAT Physics and 700 on EMSAT Biology or Chemistry.
  • The above EMSAT requirements could be replaced by SAT subject scores or averages on subjects at highschool or passing the placement test as per Table 2.

Full Admission

To be eligible for full admission to one of the following majors in the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, BSc in Medical Laboratory Analysis, BSc in Medical Diagnostic Imaging, Bachelor of Applied Health Sciences in Health Information Management, BSc in Health Management, a student should:

  • Meet the minimum average of 60% in the national secondary school certificate or its equivalent as per Table 1
  • Meet the minimum English requirement by obtaining a score of 1100 on EMSAT English, or 5.0 on IELTS, or 61 on TOEFL IBT, or 173 on TOEFL CBT or 500 on TOEFL ITP.

If high school requirements are not met, applicants may be accepted, provided that they register in 3 remedial courses to be determined according to the degree requirements and the grades of relevant subjects in the high school certificate English score according to the program requirements.

Full Admission to BSc. in Emergency Medical Care and BSc. in Respiratory Care:

To be eligible for full admission to one of the following majors in the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences: Emergency Medical Care and Respiratory Care, a student should:

  • Meet the minimum average requirement of 70% in the national secondary school certificate or its equivalent as per Table 1.
  • Meet the minimum English requirement by obtaining a score of 1100 on EMSAT English, or 5.0 on IELTS, or 61 on TOEFL IBT, or 173 on TOEFL CBT or 500 on TOEFL ITP.
  • Meet the minimum score requirement on the EMSAT: 700 on EMSAT Math, and 600 on one from EMSAT CHEM or BIOL. The above EMSAT requirements could be replaced by SAT subject scores or averages on subjects at high school or passing the placement test as per Table 2.

Students applying to Respiratory Care or Emergency Medical care with an average between 60-69.9% in grade 12 may be offered a conditional acceptance provided that they take and pass remedial courses in math, chemistry, and biology.

Conditional Admission for lower percentage:

If high school requirements are not met, applicants may be accepted, provided that they register in 3 remedial courses to be determined according to the degree requirements and the grades of relevant subjects in the high school certificate English score according to the program requirements.

  • Meet the minimum average of 60% in the national secondary school certificate or its equivalent as per Table 1.

To be eligible for full admission to one of the following majors in the Faculty of Business: BBA- Business Information Technology, BBA- Human Resource Management, BBA- Industrial Management, BBA- Management, BBA- Marketing, or BBA- Tourism and Hospitality Management, a student should:

  • Meet the minimum average of 60% in the national secondary school certificate or its equivalent as per Table 1.
  • Meet the minimum English requirement by obtaining a score of 1100 on EMSAT English, or 5.0 on IELTS, or 61 on TOEFL IBT, or 173 on TOEFL CBT or 500 on TOEFL ITP

  • Meet the minimum English requirement by obtaining a score of 1100 on EMSAT English, or 5.0 on IELTS, or 61 on TOEFL IBT, or 173 on TOEFL CBT or 500 on TOEFL ITP.
  • Meet the minimum score requirement on the EMSAT: 600 on EMSAT Math.

The above EMSAT requirements could be replaced by SAT subject scores or averages on subjects at high school or passing the placement test as per Table 2.

To be eligible for full admission to the Bachelor of Information Technology program, a student should:

  • Meet the minimum average requirement of 60% in the national secondary school certificate or its equivalent as per Table 1.
  • Meet the minimum English requirement by obtaining a score of 1100 on EMSAT English, or 5.0 on IELTS, or 61 on TOEFL IBT, or 173 on TOEFL CBT or 500 on TOEFL ITP.
  • Meet the minimum score requirement on the EMSAT: 700 on EMSAT Math and 700 on one from EMSAT Biol or Chem or Phys.

The above EMSAT requirements could be replaced by SAT subject scores or averages on subjects at high school or passing the placement test as per Table 2.
